Will Walker

1/75 Ranger for Life Counselor

Will grew up in the Atlanta area until graduating from Brookwood High School and joining the Ranger Regiment in 1991. After completing infantry training, Airborne, and the Ranger indoctrination, he was assigned to Alpha Company 1st Ranger BN in Savannah. Will completed Ranger school in 1993 and was soon married with two daughters.

After serving 9 years at 1/75, he was selected to be the 75th Ranger Regiment’s Senior Career Counselor and relocated to the regimental headquarters, where he stayed until 2004. He was granted sole custody of his daughters and left the Regiment for Hawaii. He briefly served as the 25th Infantry Division’s Command Career Counselor before being selected to the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy at Ft. Bliss, Texas.

Upon completing the academy, he was stationed in Ft. Riley, Kansas, for one year before returning to Ft. Bliss to serve as the Command Career Counselor for the 32d Army Air Missile Defense Command. His last stop before retiring in 2013 was Ft. Lewis, Washington, where he served as the 1st Corp Command Career Counselor. Will enjoyed 10 years of retirement until he was selected as the 1st RGR BN Ranger for Life Counselor in 2023.

His youngest daughter still lives in Washington and his oldest in Denver. Will has one grandson and is looking forward to more.
