Tony Mayne
Ft. Moore Ranger for Life Counselor
Tony served 12 years as a part of the US Special Operations Command, including nine years in the 75th Ranger Regiment. He retired in 2020 with 20 years of active federal service.
As a Ranger, he served as a Noncommissioned Officer in the 3rd Ranger Battalion, participating in the Regiment’s initial parachute assaults into Afghanistan and Iraq. After earning a Green-to-Gold scholarship, Tony served as an infantry officer in the Army before returning to the Ranger Regiment. In 2014, the Army Physical Evaluation Board recommended him for medical retirement. With a desire to continue serving, Tony challenged the findings to remain on active duty. He created the Ranger Regiment’s Ranger for Life career life cycle concept to best prepare Rangers on active duty for their future civilian careers.
Throughout his career, Tony has received many awards and decorations, none more cherished than his 75th Ranger Regiment shoulder sleeve insignia, Ranger Tab, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He has participated in and finished the US Army Best Ranger Competition and was a member of the winning team for the Bataan Memorial Death March.
Tony’s service after the military continues in various roles supporting Rangers, veterans, and families, including GallantFew, the Ranger Outreach Center, and the St. Luke Church, the military ministry in Columbus, GA.
Tony holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Ohio State University. He and his wife, Nicole, have two children. All of Tony’s endeavors provide him an opportunity to share the life-giving power of Jesus Christ.
