FRED KLEIBACKER

Fred Kleibacker (MSG, Ret.) served in 3rd Platoon, B Company, 2nd Ranger Battalion from 1975-1978 as a team leader and squad leader. He re-enlisted for Special Forces and served a combined nine years in the 10th and 7th Special Forces Groups, four years in the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta, and two years as an ROTC Cadre Instructor at Bucknell University, retiring in 1994.

Following retirement, Fred spent eight years as a government civilian employee helping to build a first-of-its-kind, command and staff, Personnel Recovery educational program that trained thousands of soldiers to plan and execute combat rescue missions globally. In 2007, he founded a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business providing one-of-a-kind, counter IED, technology to help protect our soldiers for the Defense Department.

Fred’s three children all served in the Military: Navy, Army, and Coast Guard. Today Fred lives quietly on his homestead with his wife Erika and their two dogs. He remains involved in his local community, is a board member of the Ranger Scholarship Fund, and manages Bravo Company’s MG Eldon Bargewell.
