Veteran Service Officer
Kristi McNichol served in the Army from 2003-2006, stationed at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI. After completing her enlistment, she utilized her Post 9/11 GI Bill earning a Bachelors of Science in Organizational, Industrial, & Cultural Psychology. While going to school, she started on her road of helping veterans as a VA Work Study at the Grundy County Veteran Assistance Commission. In 2012, she was hired at the Will County Veterans Assistance Commission, and appointed Superintendent less than 1 yr later. From 2013 – 2016, the number of veterans served by Kristi’s office has increased 10 fold – from 50 veterans per month to 500 veterans. Kristi believes her office’s success is due to her strong team & strong partnerships and collaboration.
